Incredibly disappointed with the Bakery Boss. I mainly wanted for kneading dough - bread, pizza, steamed buns etc. It is useless! Does does not have enough grunt to cope. The motor struggles and overheats and stinks of melting plastic. Invariably I have to turn it off and knead by hand. No doubt it will burn out soon! Furthermore the dough cannot stay in the bottle of the bowl so it will actually get kneaded - it wraps itself up around the top of the hook where it attaches to the motor, so I continually need to stop the machine and push it back down. None of the beaters seem to be capable of beating the ingredients without me constantly stopping and scraping down the sides of the bowl. This is NOT a cheap machine and is simply not worth the money. When this useless mixer burns out I will buy a Kitchenaid. Looks pretty but not fit for purpose.

I bought this because my elderly Kenwood Chef committed suicide by leaping off the counter when I turned my back. Desperate for fresh, homemade bread I needed a replacement immediately. This machine has already proven itself. It's quiet, powerful, shows no suicidal tendencies(the springy shock absorber thingy for the beater is obviously the key to reduced vibration, and I absolutely love the timer. I can get on with other things in the kitchen safe in the knowledge that the bread won't be overworked. Only other thing I've made is cheesecake using the scraper beater. What an excellent bit of kit.
