I bought this to replace an aging 100-watt speaker stereo system that was no longer up to the job. Suddenly music I thought I knew well was in focus with clear bass. One CD seemed to gain a whole second life when played in this Hi-Fi. I love being able to use the graphic equalizer to create the best aural landscape for my music. This alone was a major factor in my choice of this unit, I was looking for a unit with a graphic EQ rather than presets. The presets on this unit offer a starting point from which you can then adapt and modify to your own taste. I haven't put much of my opera collection through this yet, but what I have done is sounding pretty darn good. This Hi-Fi gives clarity of sound at any volume, which is a must if you want to actually hear all your music without waking up the neighbors. That said this unit can deliver sound that will have them hammering on the door and shaking the ornaments. This unit may not sit daintily on the bookcase like most mini Hi-Fi systems, and you may feel hesitant in placing this beast of a machine in your living-room. Yes, it is big, but so is the sound it produces, and if sound is what you want, this is the one to go for.
