A very reliable unit
This unit was bought to replace my previous similar unit, that had been bought 25 years previously. I’m anticipating that it will give me the same longevity as the last one.
A very nice small simple unit.
*** In almost all cases instantaneous hot water heaters WILL require a 3/4 inch natural gas supply line.
*** Be aware that many houses only have a 1/2 inch gas supply line for gas heated mass storage hot water systems.
* You MUST do your home work or obtain professional advice before purchasing one.
However smaller units such as the B16 may work from 1/2 inch gas supply line if the gas line is relatively short and does not run from one side of a house to the other etc.
* Furthermore they require a 240v power outlet close to the unit. This is for the gas igniter to operate and they do run an internal fan as well.
* They require a minimum water flow of at least 1.5 litres per minute of water for the water flow sensor to activate and operate the electric igniter to light the gas, and continue to heat the water flowing through the unit.
The unit appears to be well constructed.
Glorious Hot Water
Living in regional South Australia, it is awesome that free delivery was available. Delivery was exactly on the expected day, email and sms contact was excellent.
The rinnai hot water so far is flawless, with the caveat being perfectly adequate with a rainfall showerhead, with generous amounts of hot water, with a touch of cold to temper. For washing dishes, I do prefer hotter water, but being a longer run to the kitchen, this is not a major issue. The price I got this at was cheaper than the plumber installing it could get it for.
Will be definitely looking at Appliances online for my next major purchase
