Image quality is great, but the TV itself is slow
The image quality is great on 4K and pairs great with the soundbar, but the pros end right there,
The TV menu is quite slow and the Ethernet connection is limited to 100Mbits, leaving you out of option if your TV can’t be near your router. The Wifi isn’t much better, limited to 150Mbits-ish, so that some 4K videos will stutter. The smart remote control - which was the main reason why I bought a LG - isn’t that accurate, and the WebOS isn’t very polished so that the user experience is sometimes subpar, For instance, if you connect a Bluetooth earphone the TV will also output sound, and in order to only have sound in the earphone, you need to make a lot of gymnastics, leaving you with a disappointing experience that repeats often.
Good TV but missing the basics.
We bought the QNED86 4K Smart TV. Most things are as expected, but it's missing the basic recording facility. You cannot record to the TV. LG were even too cheap to throw in a USB to record onto, and too careless to warn you to buy one and install it on the back BEFORE fitting it to the wall! It's the little things that make the difference LG.
Convoluted - Should be easier to use.
Tossed up between the Samsung and LG. Ended up choosing LG largely due to the remote being more like a regular remote and thought it easier to use.
I will start with the positives:
Love the picture and sound quality (actually took away the sound bar used on previous TV).
We wall hung which was quite easy, the bracket sits central on the tv not low like previous tv making it quite well balanced.
Negatives:
Too much messing around trying to find free to air channels which is our primary use. Starts on Apps then you have to try negotiating though screens to find free to air. Quick access doesn't appear to be an option for free to air but does for LG channels.
The pointer is annoying and can't be turned off (only temporarily).
Probably had I the opportunity to try the tv before purchase I would have chosen a different TV, to be fair it could be fine for someone who is used to using the pointer device and someone who prioritises Apps over free to air, maybe I will get used to it with use but why should I have to when it should be just easy to use.
