Gas cooktop has flaws
This gas cooktop looks good when first purchased. However, the brass and aluminium burner fittings stain very quickly and are impossible to clean even with the recommended products. More importantly, two of the four burners constantly go out mid cooking. You cannot leave anything on the stove to simmer, the flame just goes out.
Works like a charm
I am so happy with this stove, I also bought the stove skirts which keeps the stove always looking new
Overall very good
The best features of this gas cooktop are its appearance (stainless steel): this is much easier to clean than the old ceramic top version. The simmer level seems to work better than the older Ilve version. On the downside: ignition takes a while and if not held down for long enough, the flame goes out. I also frequently find the flame has gone out mid-cooking due to a safety feature. Also, before purchasing, ensure you have enough space between cooktop and rangehood as we had to have cabinetry work done to meet Ilve’s requirements. Overall, a good cooktop.
