Sitting down with a cup of tea is an excellent way to let off some steam, and now you can prepare your cuppa with a kettle that lets off its own steam slowly and carefully.
This Breville kettle features a soft-open lid to safely release steam at a staggered rate. The lid’s motion will also prevent hot water from splashing onto your skin. With a 360-degree swivel base, you can comfortably position the kettle anywhere on your benchtop. Dual water windows allow you to fill the kettle accurately by using either millilitres or the number of cups as a guide.

Looks nice, poor quality.
I should have read these reviews before I bought this kettle. Just four weeks after the 12 month warranty expired and our kettle has also developed a crack in the lid window that is letting steam escape. Clearly this is a problem with this model that will never be addressed. During these economic times we decided to go cheaper after having 2 of the Breville Smart Kettles.
Big mistake.
Now changing brands.
Improvement suggestion
I love this jug. Is my third one so far.
However, it NEEDS to have the MAX level highlighted. Either make it red so stands out, or add a light on this area so can clearly see the mark when filling the jug. Or if you have a better idea? It REALLY NEEDS THIS ADDRESSED.
From cracked top plastic window to replacement Kettle
After almost 2 years, the top plastic window seems to have cracked inexplicably. As it was not covered under warranty according to Breville, they offered a discounted purchase option for a replacement. Whilst this is helpful, it did leave a question mark as WHY the top plastic window cracked? Fortunately the crack was no so large as to drop pieces inside the kettle, it could potential be an issue to consider if you plan to use this model. The replacement kettle which we purchased from Breville works OK so far.
