I wouldn't recommend any kettle with a see through lid such as this. We have just had to replace a second kettle (this particular one) within 8 years. Both times the clear plastic on the lid has disintegrated.
Our daughter has had one Kmart kettle now for the same length of time. Guess where our new one came from?!!
