Was looking at all the fridges in this size range with left hand hinges, and ended up deciding to save about 30% over another brand for similar specs, but lower energy star rating, by choosing the Westinghouse. Couldn't be happier. It colls well freezes well, and has useful storage features. A very good solid straight forward fridge/freezer combo.

I contacted Westinghouse to confirm that it was a genuine stainless steel door and tempered glass shelves, because this fridge feels and looks like it's 100% plastic. The 'stainless steel' on the door is also very soft. Contact with anything will leave a permanent dent in it. I could push a dent in it with my finger if I wanted to. The freezer has bins that slide out on cheap, galvanized metal tracks. One of these fell off during installation, but could be pushed back into the holes in the plastic wall (the only form of attachment). The light inside is blindingly bright and harsh. When the fridge door is open, the light is so bright it can be seen from outside - right through our curtains! The 'Safe' shelf for medications is small and shallow. We use it for asprin and panadol, which often fall out - this shelf is pretty much useless. Another issue I have is the shelves in the main door are all attached by continuous grooves which are impossible to clean. I predict this fridge will age badly (and quickly). Positives are it's got a lot of internal space for it's compact size. The 'Quick Freeze' function works well. The freezer bins can be removed for cleaning. The shelfless freezer door is great - although it needs to be opened right up to access the freezer bins - you need at least 120 degrees of clearance for both doors because of the sliding crisper and freezer bins. The top door is the perfect height to clear our Labrador who likes to hang out in the kitchen!

So this is the second of these fridges we have had grace our kitchen, and this rating can reflect the full experience of the two. The first one lasted twelve months and wasn't cooling and freezing from early in our relationship. Frustrating customer service from Westinghouse (45 min hold time to call for a service visit), service man who stunk of cigarettes and suggested the fridge issues were some how our fault. We persevered, until December 2018. A different repair man decided it was dead and needed to go back to the warehouse and assured us we would get a loaner. What ever he did made it worse, and we were days out from hosting Christmas lunch without a functional fridge. Multiple calls to that frustratingly long service phone line delivered no answers. Finally we went to social media, and that goes things hopping. They couldn't work out what was going on as the Service people were all away on Christmas lunch. So we ended up with a store credit and a promise our new fridge would be delivered Christmas Eve. We ended up biting the bullet and buying an identical fridge. We like the size, the layout, the ice section and the deep freezer drawers. Nothing else compared. So far so good with Fridge 2.. here is hoping Fridge 1, and the generally appalling service, were just an aberration.
