TCL Not quite so smart
I purchased the UHD TCL in order to stay ahead of any new sources of 4K material that hopefully will be hitting the market soon. Whilst the screen resolution may be 4K everything else on the Television is very much well below this standard. ie HDMPG4 (CH9) is up converted and very "blockey" on screen. Won't play 4K MKV files on the "smart" tv.
Although, watching You Tube 4K files appears to show the full resolution of those files. However, aftera few demos theres not much else to watch.
I was also led to believe that the TV would have both SBS and ABC apps. Sadly the ABC I View APP is missing. There is also no access to any of the other broadcaster apps. (no updates available from TCL). I assume that TCL have not been as successful as the Japanese brands in securing deals to install the Apps by default.
Be prepared to purchase a separate 4K box that will play 4K blue Ray as well as MKV and other files that are 4K as well as allow access to other on-line movie
suppliers as well as freeview for Australia.

I have contacted TCL about i view and they told me because of the Melbourne cup and them being busy the software update would fix this still nothing. Also should have shopped around found the tv cheaper at Harvey Norman a week after purchase.
