I chose this iron because it had a longer cord than some others, it had variation in steam strength and what I thought was a larger capacity for water and I liked the colour! After 6 months of light use this iron has finally done it's dash with me. Firstly the water capacity was much smaller than my previous iron and required constant refilling after only a couple of garments despite only having it on the lowest steam setting. The tank level is also near on impossible to read when filling. These things were annoying but I could live with them. This week when using the iron the steam would randomly just not work at all. I have had enough of messing with this iron. I will not be taking it back to the retailer but have now purchased the same brand I had previously. I had always thought Sunbeam was a reputable brand but have since read many reviews of this iron experiencing similar problems. Very disappointed and lesson learned.

Auto off feature DOES NOT WORK!!!!! Purchased this iron specifically for this reason. After one hour of testing, the alarm is still sounding a warning, but not turning off safely. If you are a quilter or a sewer this iron will drive you nuts!!!!!!

I purchased this iron a few days ago and have found that it continually leaks water through holes on the soleplate when in steam mode. Have tried various combinations of heat and steam settings without any success.
