A total convert
After three kitchen renovations and two disappointing rangehoods (the first a budget model that sounded like a 737 taking off from the runway; the second a high quality brand that fell well short of its "near silent" premium price), thebuilder of our current kitchen convinced us to try a Shweigen Rangehood. I was reluctant, given our past experiences, but he had me visit his own kitchen and test his Schweigen, including standing beneath where the fan/exhaust was mounted on an exterior wall. I could not believe the silence of the rangehood, both inside and outside. For us, it has proven to be an absolute winner: quiet, efficient, filters dishwashable, and looks smart. And bright dual lights - see photo. Thank you Schewigen. I love it!
Works fine, but not really silent.
The extractor fan works fine, but it’s not really silent. The external fan really does need to be mounted as far as possible from the Rangehood itself. In our case, it was 1 m and as a result, the Rangehood is about similar to any other decent quality Rangehood.
