A good buy, depending *greatly* on your use case
I have a multi-thousand dollar, full Dolby Atmos/DTS:X setup in my lounge room, so you're probably curious why I'm looking at the HTP076 HTIB. For me, this is a great upgrade to my ageing Logitech Z906 system (with optical inputs at best) in the room that has my PC and gaming equipment. I had to use a mix of audio extractors and splitters to grab the audio stream to send it over optical to the Z906 setup. This wasn't ideal as I was missing out on uncompressed audio streams such as TrueHD and DTS-MA, and higher. Even devices that sent out PCM signals didn't map correctly to each speaker in 5.1 on the Z906 (looking at you, Nintendo Switch). The receiver (VSX-326) ticks all the boxes in supporting every decoder currently out there, along with four HDMI inputs that are assignable/nameable that passthrough HDR10, HLG, Dolby Vision and do it all at 4k-60hz-4:4:4 + HDCP2.2. Bluetooth audio is, not recommended, you'll hear a very noticeable degradation in quality. I set the satellites speakers in a 5.1 fashion instead of 3.1.2, they're easy to mount, especially when compared to large floorstanding speakers that simply wouldn't fit in a bedroom. The speakers are, for the most part, alright. They're nothing too flash, with the lower end frequencies performing a bit on the mediocre side. The good news is, this can be rectified by using the old trick of setting the front left/center/right channels to -12db, the rears to roughly -4.5db or -6db depending on your environment, and the sub to +6db or higher and changing the crossover to 150hz. I've found that I need to bring the sub down to 0db when playing games with +6db absolutely fine for other material (music/movies), but I can also take it up to +12db when I really want to hear and feel the bass in the room. I can't comment on the ARC as I simply don't use it. Upping the volume into the -30db to -20db and higher range, you'll hear the receiver click over into its high powered mode, especially when the bass hits. Power consumption does increase slightly, from an average of 70w at the wall at idle to easily hitting 120w and higher depending on the volume. Overall, purchasing this system will be very dependant on your use case. For a bedroom or a smaller lounge room, this is a great system that performs perfectly, especially in my situation. For larger rooms, I can see that this setup may fall short and you may need to consider a different, albeit more expensive system.

I bought this a month ago and it’s not good as I expected. The AV receiver is not bad but speakers are just average!
