Does the job... but could be better
I bought my last toaster about 8 years ago - and it has better features than this one. No peeking to see how far along the toast is, no count-down, no beep to let you know it has finished. Very meh. But yes, it toasts bread.
Dosesn't cook evenly
I brought this approx. 1 month ago. This toaster does not cook the bread evenly. I have experimented with different settings & even tried different breads, not that I should have to change the bread I eat because I brought a new toaster & we continue to have the same result. Crumpets are cooked terribly in it!
