Kettle is good and quick. Looks great. What a pity that six months into its working life it has developed an alarming water leak around the on-off switch. It's probably not safe to use. Also the level guide is not infallible, so I fill according to weight.

This colour may be limited or discontinued. The model design is interesting and I have thoughts on a few aspects. The dark colour and shine finish means if you like things shiny you will notice quickly when it needs a wipedown. I did not notice this kind of thing when I had a glass kettle. Not noticable from a distance, just close-up. The shape and handle design may be difficult for those with reduced mobility - a narrower model with a side-mounted handle may suit better if you struggle with hand or wrist strength; I like the aesthetics but this is a less ergonomic feel because of the weight distribution. It is a more wide base, so of course you will need to have a little extra bench space for a wider based design. This also means that the baseline water level will be more volume, so maybe more energy consumption for minimum water use heating compared to a narrow design. The spout and filter design means that pest ingress is possible, but no more than other designs. As for the whistle - this is an electronic sound, not a physical whistle. It's handy if you tend to wander off and forget about the kettle for that fresh hot cup of tea :) It is a cute kettle and seems to be well built, and is aesthetically pleasing. It's of course a personal matter - aesthetics and build here may not make sense to some related to the 'quality' of a kettle, considering you can probably get a super-cheap one and frankly boiled water is what it is. But this a nice accent in the home that makes things a bit cheerful. My only thought comparing this to a glass kettle is that it's a bit more 'abstract' to figure out pre-boil status, as I often want to get to a temperature more suited to green teas than a full boil. If I wanted to be fussy about that I'd have gone for a specific temperature select boiler, and frankly I'm not that fussy :)

It looks a lot better than it should. The water level display is very dodgy. I now check it by feeling the weight. It boils quickly and I finally found out how to turn off the ghastly siren.
