Looks good but
Bought a few weeks ago. Should have researched it more. Looks good but doesn't cook evenly and burns the edges and sets the smoke alarms off
Oops! Form beats function - KA you're KO'd!
The KitchenAid toaster is well-built, well-designed and its surfaces are easy to clean. Unfortunately, it does not toast evenly as the inner elements do not toast the same as the outside elements and the outside edges of the toast burn! It's main/basic function of making evenly toasted bread just does not work! The settings for the degree of toasting are graded too far apart so that it may not toast enough on 2, but burns on 3. This, plus the problem of the difference in the degree of toasting in the outside and inside elements has made the simple act of making a piece of toast an annoying "stop and reverse the toast juggle" task every morning. This is a great pity as all my other KitchenAid products including my over 30 year old KA Mixer are excellent and have never missed a beat! Would I recommend or buy the toaster again? Unfortunately not!
