The GameSaver has been specifically engineered for use outside the home. Take it with you on your camping trips to preserve freshly-caught fish, using the 12-volt DC adapter cord to power the unit from your car, boat, or RV. Very Happy Recommend it 100%.
I'm very happy; I've been using it for several months, and I use it constantly every day. I used to use the bags, but now I prefer the containers (FoodSaver), and the food lasts much longer. It has quite strong suction power, and I recommend it 100%.
Too big
I have been using food savers for over 15 years now. I have purchased the larger one before, then the last 3 have been the smaller model. They last approx 3 to 4 years, they live on my bench as I use them daily. They do add a lot of life to your food items. However, this one that I purchased last is just too big and takes up too much room. The buttons feel cheap, like they will break easily. It is clunky. It does store a plug for using in your car (strange, how many people want this option) plus stores your roll of bags. This is all not necessary, causing it to big very unnecessary large. I have had to remove other items from my bench in order for it to fit. Get the smaller version.
