Love the digital display advising the current oven temperature and it’s easy to change the modes and use. I cook more now. I highly recommend this oven.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this oven mainly for the Fan Assist Bake function after having to send the previous model back because it just didn't perform. As an avid cook with a food blog, I like appliances to work efficiently and cook evenly. I also wasn't looking for an oven with bells and whistles, so I probably won't use the settings like 'pizza' and 'pastry'. To me, they just dumb down the art of cooking, but I suppose they help sell the product. So far, I’m finding this oven to be on the slower, gentler side of the cooking spectrum, which is taking some adjustment as I'm used to a much hotter type of oven. Switching between functions is simple though, and that's handy for finishing a bake, such as swapping from fan assist to fan-only. For context, the model before this was terrible. The food either burned or didn't cook! It certainly didn’t render fat or crisp up a duck skin. While I haven't cooked one in this yet I'm keen to cook a duck maryland to see if it can offer the heat needed to quickly render the fat and get a good crispy finish. On the plus side, I'm impressed with the digital interface, which is responsive and easy to get used to. I also really like the sleek finish. From a safety point of view, the four glass layers are good, because the door stays cool to the touch, which would be a great feature if you've got young kids around. Plus, the glass comes right out, which will make it nice and easy to clean. Other Observations • The steam bake function feels a bit gimmicky. My tried and true system of throwing ice cubes into a hot tray works just as well without the cleanup. • I haven't used the food probe yet, but I'm looking forward to seeing if it helps nail the timing on a roast or other food that needs to reach certain internal temperatures.
