Love my new Dyson
I brought this vacuum about a month ago and have loved it since opening the box. The system itself is strong, the swivel head is fairly good, the cord is long and the electric brush head is brilliant. I have an animal so animal hair was a big issue that my new vacuum had to be able to deal with... and this (light weight) Dyson has made easy work of it.
One thing I had to get used to (and am still getting used to) is removing the hose from the pipe to and reattaching it to go around the edges of carpets and into corners. This does take more time however not enough for me to give a bad review. If you are looking to purchase this item, google a video of this beforehand.
They've figured it out!
I've gone through several vacuums this year, been delaying a Dyson for ages because of the price. What a fool I was. The power is perfect, the hair/carpet scrubber brush thing doesn't get clogged, what Voodoo they've performed to achieve such a thing barely dares contemplation. I'm very long haired, my dog is moulting.. yet the carpet is clean, the dirt chamber is full of hair and not a single bound strand on the rolling brush! Magic!
The cord is really long, I can do half my 4 bed house from one end and then move to the other, if we had plugs in the middle it could possibly do the whole place in one go. However, no cord retract, obvious when you think about it, but still something to consider if that is really important to you.
The dirt box isn't massive, but emptying it is quick and painless. Even when quite clogged with hair.
The controls are obvious. Two big buttons.
Not sure about the skirting board tool, it works, and how, but it's weird. Compromises had to be made I guess, and that is certainly inventive, took me a few minutes to figure out how to assemble the first time.
Don't forget to turn off the brush when on hard floors, my sister broke her brush head doing that, it's probably in the manual somewhere.
It's a bit heavier than a normal vacuum head, but that's because the whole thing is the head, you have to get used to pushing it down to initiate floor suction.
All up, a nifty looking, powerful and efficient machine. Highly worth the price.
Best vacuum I have owned
This vacuum is sensational. So powerful. I have three dogs and it picks up all the pet hair. Sensational. Love it.
