I love this product
The ceiling in our unit is too low for fans so I had to find something to cool us down in the Brisbane heat
The fan cools us and sends a lovely breeze our way while we are in bed and it makes a noise not unlike an overhead fan that helps block out traffic noise
I love it
The 10 Speed Settings Are Very Useful
I am happy with my purchase. Besides the obvious differences between this and other fans (e.g. no blades), what I really appreciate are the 10 speed settings.
At first I didn't think I would use many/all of them, but have found the lower settings are far better than, say, the lowest speed of 3 (of other fans) if I want a mild breeze, but do not want to feel like I am being blown on.
At lower speeds, the fan is very quiet. When running at 10, it is quite a bit louder. But even then, the sound is far more pleasant to me than a blade fan.
The only thing I would prefer, would be for the base to be a little taller. Another 15cm would make a huge difference to me.
Space saver
I purchased a few weeks back. Design is fine and ideal for a small space in a room.
The only draw back is the excess noise when using at higher speed. This needs to be worked on. The price is too high - it is only plastic! I think we are paying for the 'perceived high tech' portrayal of the design and of course Dyson think they can charge more because of the brand. Soon they will price themselves out of the market.
