Item as described at a good price, tricky to install but happy
It's a steel bar!
It really is just a steel bar just the right length for the rangehood and you do need it to open it easily. It has the correct screw holes in it to attach to the rangehood and it did come with the correct screws, which was great. However, they were stuck inside the box and you had to look for them to get them out, which wasn't great. Then it was a long, painful affair because the instructions didn't show that you had to screw it in from inside the rangehood in a place that pretty well made anything but a standard screwdriver impossible and even that couldn't go straight in because the handle with your hand on it got in the way. I'm assuming Bosch have some custom tool to attach them, or assume that you have the hands of a small child and the dexterity of someone who folds 1mm long origami animals.
Apart from that, it was delivered quickly, but could have done with better instructions on attachment.
Not so good
I bought the Bosch DSZ4655 to replace a Kleenmaid slideout range hood after reading the Choice review. The airflow through the slide out is insufficient to support a paper facial tissue. The slide out part on the Bosch does not clear steam and condensation occurs over the front and back parts of the range hood. The condensation can splash into food if the slideout part is pushed in when there is food on the stove underneath. I did not have this issue with my two previous rangehoods. I have had a service call and the service person could find nothing to improve.
